In a developing country like Indonesia, formal education is very important. Because, lots of company here need a diploma degree or certification of graduating from a school (called ijazah) to get job.
But, troubles come when it is about financial condition, school quality, and etc. Prestige is giving much portion to parents point of view. So, lots of parents taking their children to a school, studying in subjects which their parents want them to do, and graduating no matter what it takes. For me, students should study in a subject that they put lots of interest and they able to do it. What parents need to do is supporting their children, widen their creativity, and polish their personality.
